If we were to sum up our eight-day/seven-night cruise in the Galapagos Islands we might use these three words: Exhilirating. Exciting. Enchanting.
(Actually add a fourth word to that list: Exhausting.)
In our six months of travel to date, there is no experience that can touch the power and the beauty that we found in the Galapagos Islands. And in the upcoming twelve months of travel we have remaining (um, Mom and Dad, did we mention we've extended our trip?), I can imagine nothing else that we'll experience which will awaken our imaginations as much as those gorgeous islands did.
For those of you who've read our website for a while, you know that's not to say we haven't experienced wonders and breathtaking moments to date. Far from it. We've had absolutely amazing things happen to us, moments we will always treasure.
But the Galapagos Islands...they just seem to stand on their own. There is nothing comparable. They are definitely a world apart.
We know several of you are anxious for details of our time in the Enchanted Islands, but we have to wait just a little longer before sharing those stories. First there are stories of an Ecuadorian bus ride and our time at the Yachana Jungle Lodge in the Amazon Rain Forest to be shared.
But, never wanting to disappoint, we've gone ahead and selected some of our favorite photos from our magical time in the Galapagos. We hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we enjoyed taking them. And never fear, there'll be a lot more to come!

Enjoy the world!

sorry, i had to get that out of my system. thank you thank you thank you for providing me with the perfect vicarious life. the photos are amazing.
Thanks for the awesome pics of Ally's and Sturgie's relatives! I hope this means that you didn't pull a Darwin and throw some poor defenseless lizzard into the ocean. I will be SO upset if I found out that you hurt a lizzard, turtle, or any other interesting animal. However, if you were forced to eat a lizzard burger or something I won't be too mad… I'll just want to know if lizzards really do tase like fishy-chicken. ; o P
Please take care of yourselves and know that I miss you both more than words can say…

I've been waiting for the trip extension, 'cause, you know, you've been in South America such a long time and seen such amazing things. You've got to give all the other continents the same attention. With the time you had planned, there was no way you were going to fit that all in.
um…I seem to have left my "Johney Well" on
You know, you've been commenting that for months, and I've only just gotten the reference.
