Just like not everyone in the US saw the Grand Canyon during their last summer vacation. So once you've exhausted the tourists sites, what other things can you do to experience life in another country?

Posted by Jessica on Aug 19, 2009 Stepping off the plane, my first few steps will feel so light, so airy because everything turned out alright. If we've arrived at our travel destination, I'll quickly lose myself in the intoxication that is travel. I'll soak up as much of the place that we're in, breathing it in, feeling it in every ounce of my soul.

Posted by Jessica on Aug 10, 2009 Throughout the 18 months we traveled around the world, SeƱor Pig was a constant. No matter how bad a day we had, he was always cheerful and available for a cuddle. He never minded long travel days, cramped leg space, or frustrating delays. He didn't even mind being placed on a German man's head.

Posted by Jessica on Jul 27, 2009 Reading a recent LA Times article makes me wonder what most people consider off the beaten path. Given the article's introduction, I'm assuming people who aren't backpackers consider off the beaten path to mean places that aren't Paris or London. But can it really be that easy?
