Posted by Tim and Jessica on Mar 1, 2009 We first launched HedgehogsWithoutBorders.com in October 2004 in preparation for our 18 month round-the-world trip that began in March 2005. During that first version of the website, there were a few pages that no longer appear in our re-vamped website (launched in March 2009). However, there were also comments from friends, family members, and other travelers on those now-deleted pages. Not wanting to lose those comments, we've compiled all of them below. For new readers of our blog, don't expect many of these to make sense! But old readers may enjoy finding forgotten notes from yesterday.
We love your website! We are hoping that we might get to see you as you pass through Lewiston next week. We are going to follow along with your journey as part of our school geography lessons. Right now Laura is growing a terrarium of herbs and other exotic/tropical plants. She also might grow a potato in a bucket! We are studying ancient Greece this year and reading lots of mythology. Laura is also very interested in birds, so if you see any interesting birds in your travels, please be sure to tell us about them. Thanks and love from Laura and Jane Bristol
Don't forget that
(1) Geneva is not far off your planned itinerary and there are several people that would love to see you both there (free accomodation)
(2) Prague and Budapest are two towns that you really cannot miss. I can find you accomodation in at leat one of them. Budapest is on the way to Greece from Italy, and you can go through Croatia whose coastline has the reputation of being the most beautiful in the Med.
Lookoing forward to following the journey,
Peter

Also, the first real day of your trip is also the only day of the year which actually means something (pun on words):
MARCH FORTH.
You do that. '-)
Hey – was I the last one to sleep on that sofabed before it joined the dearly departed? '-) Lucky me!
Anyway… Good luck with your trip, and I better not her that you sold "The LOUD one!"
How soon after this trip do you envision being able to go to Africa?
Probably not for a few years.
1. Geneva was never far from our thoughts when planning our European tour. (That and we're not known for turning down free accomodation!) I'd imagine you'll be hearing from us once we hit the continent.
2. We're planning on traveling from Italy to Greece by boat, but we're open to any and all options. I hereby charge you with the task of talking us into it, when we inevitably run across one other in Geneva.

Mail yourself to Madrid, Poste Restante. We'll pick you up when we get there.
Robert:
Well, obviously, yes.

And who was the one who said Timmy was his "male soul mate"? Hmmmm?
"I love to go a-wandering along the mountain track. And as I go, I love to sing. My knapsack on my back."
Looking forward to your updates.
be good to each other. Lee
p.s. be safe, don`t make me come over there!
I hope you and Tim are doing well and having fun! Right after you left I broke my shoulder and am now just getting back to work.
I hope your trip is everything you thought it would be.
Take care and be safe.

My guy and I have been pondering a trip much like this for some time (and it will prpbably be some time before it gets done– much to do in the US on a Harley, first!).
Your blogs and pictures tell a most wonderful story. Thank you, and I'll be checking back here to follow you for sure.
He's been living in Japan for years, but has ventured around this world I think 8 times! And he doesn't go to those touristy areas…in fact, I think you guys should try to get in touch with him…and if you're planning a trip to Japan, be sure to let him know…he speaks the language fluently and knows the entire country…
Basically, I figured that there's a mutual interest for the Hedehogs to meet John Daub…and by the way…drop me a line!
Safe travels Tim 'n Jessica…great, friendly site design by the way…I'm liking the photos too! Hope to talk to y'all sooner or later?

Be good and be safe. It's fun following you on your travels.
